Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between chiropodist and podiatrist?2020-04-29T14:42:20+00:00

Podiatry is the new name given to Chiropody. In Podiatry you are required to complete a 3 -year degree whereas Chiropody was a diploma course. Podiatrists are regulated by a professional body called the HPCP (Health & Care Professional Council) who make sure members adhere to their standards.

Will I need to bring anything to my appointment?2020-04-29T14:43:56+00:00

At initial appointments you will be asked to several questions related to your medical history so it may be wise to bring a recent prescription with you. If you are booked in for a biomechanical assessment you may be required to bring a range of your footwear.

What to expect at the first appointment?2024-04-22T12:14:37+00:00

Treatment begins with some questions about your general health. An initial assessment will cover neurological and vascular tests. Once this is completed and consent has been provided, treatment will follow. At the end of the treatment a plan is decided upon.

How often do I have to come?2020-04-28T14:16:07+00:00

It all depends on your foot needs. Some people come before their holiday’s or once per year, others need to come on a more regular basis of every 2, 4 and 6 weeks. This will be discussed at your initial appointment and a treatment plan will be implemented.

How long does an appointment take?2020-04-29T14:45:27+00:00

Our appointments range from 10 minutes for a corn appointment (or similar) to 40 minutes for a full appointment. Please see treatments page under the podiatry section for more information.

Do you offer home visits?2020-04-28T14:23:34+00:00
