Our Story

Having worked both within the NHS and the private sector for several years Lynne felt that the time had come to open her own clinic. Utilising the knowledge and experience she gained working for other practitioners, an old plumber’s merchants was converted into a brand-new clinic, and in March 2011 ‘Cambridge Road Chiropody’ was born. Over the following 9 years she built up a busy clinic, adding staff members and more podiatrists as business increased.

In late 2019 it was felt the business had outgrown the premises, and a new property was sought. Due to the success of the clinic over the years, Lynne was able to buy her own premises, relocating her business to a more central location. Rebranding was required and ‘Step First Podiatry’ was created. Lynne now works with a team of podiatrists to help offer a range of services and expertise.

Lynne Ellison - BSc (Hons) Pod. Practice owner
Step first Podiatry is run by Lynne Ellison, who has many years’ experience in the Podiatry profession. She graduated in 2007 from Durham School of Podiatric Medicine. Lynne previously worked as a Podiatrist for the NHS in Cornwall for 2 years, before relocating to the Northwest. There she began working for numerous private practitioners, gaining valuable experience before deciding to open a clinic of her own.

In 2011 she opened ‘Cambridge Road Chiropody’, and after 9 years of successful trading she was finally able to purchase new premises. Relocation meant that a new name was required, and in 2020 ‘Step First Podiatry’ was born.
In her spare time, she enjoys walking, looking after her dogs Lucy (Shih Tzu) & Izzie (Brussels Griffon) and has a keen interest in metabolic health and the Keto & Carnivore diet, attending conferences all over the country.
