WHAT IS NAIL SURGERY?

An ingrown toenail can be a very painful condition. The nail can break off and pierce into the surrounding skin, which can lead to swelling and infection. These can be caused from incorrect trimming of the toenails, trauma to the area, or the normal shape of the nail (can be hereditary and family members have had the same issues). A podiatrist can remove some of the nail and make it more comfortable for you. In many cases, it is often worth considering nail surgery.
